Meet me

Hi! My name is Gina, I am a stay at home mama to my little angel, Lucca. I was born and raised in Maryland, with my 4 siblings. I love having a big family, and my mama is my best friend. I am thankful everyday for having a healthy, happy childhood.

I went to UMD and majored in Sociology.

4 and half years ago  I met my soulmate John Carlson. (Here’s a picture from the night we met) … hubs looking extra hot!!!

We went on a few dates but nothing came of it. 10 months later, we were both going to the same country concert, and the rest is history. We spent the first night of summer dancing and falling in love.

A year and half later, he proposed. Right in the middle of the kitchen at 4 in the afternoon, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him….I said yes! We “popped” champagne, haha, A LOT of champagne. John loves when I drink because I don’t often, and I guess he thinks I’m way more fun when I do, lol. SO,  we drank a few bottles of champagne, ordered in pizza, and danced around the kitchen to our favorite country songs until 1 am. It is by far the funnest night of my life!

6 months later, we got married on a scorcherrrrrrr (94 degrees & HUMID). A huge thunderstorm came through right after our outdoor ceremony (basically the exact weather anyone having an outdoor wedding fears). I am extremely supersticious so I will always think that storm is a good luck charm to our marriage, symbolizing we can get through everything together. Our wedding was not how I expected it to be, but it was better- it was like a wild dance party, people drenched all dancing in a big huddle, celebrating us, and  probably complaining why in the world would these people not have aircondtition at their wedding, LOL. Sorry!!!

Right before the storm…

Being introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Carlson <3

Heading home after our wedding…

2 weeks later, my little Lucca was in my tummy.

23 weeks                                                                        36 weeks

My little guy was stubborn like his mama, and did not wanna flip! He was breeched,  and on June 15th, Lucca came into the world, via c section! Everyone tells you  having a baby is the best feeling in the world, but you truly don’t know until it happens. I’m having so much fun being a mama to my little human (:

The first week of his life, I experienced a joy & happiness I thought never existed. I just stared at him all day and all night, feeling so grateful for the gift god gave me. Shortly after we got home from the hospital,  I was hit with intense anxiety & worry. When you gain someone you love so much, you also gain the risk of losing him. (I will go into more detail about my anxiety in later blogs.)  I can’t imagine ever going through what some parents endure with a sick child. I will be raising money for St. Jude, by selling my things, and also fundraising. My sales will go under the “Shop” tab on my site. To learn more about St. Jude- click on the link, “St. Jude” in the menu bar. Thank you for reading and please shop, all proceeds will go to St. Jude.

Here’s my greatest accomplishment!

I can’t forget our last 2 family members- our pups, Ellie & Bronco. The 5 of us live in Chevy Chase, Md. (Right outside DC) Hubs is a sexy beast hockey player, so who knows where the road will take us… But home is here for now (: Talk soon. xo
